“Over the Rainbow”, also known as “Somewhere over the Rainbow” was written by Harold Arlen with lyrics by Yip Harburg for the 1939 film “The Wizard of Oz”. This version was sung by actress July Garland. On his 1993 album “Facing Future” Israel Kamakawiwo’ole interpreted the song in a ukulele medley with “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong, first recorded in 1988.
